As an instructor with the Toronto Board of Education for over 4 decades, Evelyn taught upholstery techniques, sewing at all levels, and developed her own unique signature class lampshade-making.
When in September 2002, she retired from Toronto Board of Education, she opened her own school Creativity Classes specializing in upholstery, creative sewing and lampshade making.
Through her lampshade-making classes she brought renewed interest to the art of Victorian lampshade making. With her passion of creating-one-of-a-kind piece she passes her knowledge and experience to many students.
Evelyn is constantly researching the latest products, trends and techniques. Her latest passion is cork - and especially cork fabric.
Every January and September Evelyn is hosting an OPEN HOUSE to introduce her Creativity Classes and to display the work of her students.
Evelyn is a regular exhibitor and instructor at the bi-annual Creative Festival, held in Toronto
Evelyn stated " My classes are about being actively involved and making something for yourself . My students enjoy working together, exchanging ideas , sharing the passion of being creative and productive".
